Ottawa: Government Printing Bureau, 1906. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good. Official narrative of the expedition to Canada's Arctic Archipelago. Mounted to declare Canada's authority over the Arctic, the expedition was led by Albert Peter Low (1861-1942), a geologist with experience in the north, with a compliment of 43 including a detachment of North-West Mounted Police and several other scientists. Octavo: xvii, 355 p. with a frontispiece, 62 illustrations, and a color folding map (rear pocket). Original brown cloth binding, with gilt stamping. Period previous owner's ink signature to the front flyleaf. The upper seam of the rear pocket is split. Minor bumping to the corners and tips; otherwise very good.
