Report on the Typography of the Cambridge University Press: Prepared in 1917 at the request of the Syndics

This report of 1917, by the eminent American designer ("of Indiana", like Emery Walker liked to say), remains highly relevant after all these years in its general application for all who are involved with print today. It was first privately printed in 1950 as the Cambridge Christmas book for that year, by Brooke Crutchley, the Printer at Cambridge (500 copies), with an introduction by Crutchley. For the 1968 edition by the Wynkyn de Worde Society, which is the second edition, Mr. Crutchley has slightly changed and adapted his introduction. It is very scarce; scarcer than the 1950 edition.
