London: Saunders and Otley , 1838. Book. Very Good. 3/4 Leather. 1st Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Three-quarter brown calf with marbled boards and matching brown-beige endpapers. Professional repairs to the corners, and volumes one and two have been rebacked. New spine labekls. Solid hinges and inside, very clean pages with no stains, no foxing. I see browning on one page where it appears a clipping left a slight browning scar. Top edges gilt. "Martineau, political economist, philosopher and journalist, was also a serious traveler.
