Sobre este artículo

Westminster: Pax House/The Council for the Defence of Church Principles, nd.[1943].. Scarce T.S.Eliot item. The Coucil for the Defence of Church Principles. Pamphlet 7. A Pre-fabricated Church. Reunion by Destruction. By T. S. Eliot originally published in The Church Times, December 10, 1943. Pp.21, minor spotting to closed page edges. Brown card covers, rusting to staples. Scarce. G+. ** "The concept of an ecumenical Church of South India, in which Anglicans would combine with non-episcopal Protestant Churches, was raised in 1920 at the Sixth Lambeth Conference. Eliot was one of several conservative Anglicans to argue against such a union. In January 1943 (ten months before this pamphlet was published), he was one of a deputation to the Archbishop of Canterbury, William Temple, to discuss the matter. (Temple was a supporter of the scheme, and published a reply to Eliot's pamphlet in 1944).
