David Bogue, London, 1856. 9.5" X 7" in blue cloth with intricate gilt cover design. Fraying at both ends of spine, Binding cracking, Spine a little dulled, minor foxing: GOOD to GOOD PLUS condition. Top edge gilt. This is a mid-19th century travel book. The text is by Henry Mahew; the illustrations are by Birket Foster who did the original drawings which were later engraved for the book by others. There are 20 full page engravings. 386pp + 2pp of publisher's ads. [Quite Rare]. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket.
