Very fine in near fine dust jacket. Anna Merz founded and personally financed the Nagare Sergoi Rhino Sanctuary in 1982; it is now part of the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. Merz pioneered Rhino conservation, and has been a primary force in the effort to keep the rhino from extinction. One of the first generation of women in Africa, without scientific training, who revolutionized our view of nature, conservation and the appropriate treatment of wild animals.
