"This is an expanded version of an earlier edition printed by not released commercially by World Publishing Company in 1971, shortly before it discontinued its trade publishing operations. This revised edition contains seven entirely new poems." (from the jacket.) Jacket illustration is by Blackfeet artist Neil Parsons. Sinopsis

The title of the book refers to the forty acres of Montana land Welch?s father once leased from a Blackfeet family called Earthboy.
