Publisher's spray top of text block, else contents and gold gilt, dark green & black cloth covered boards display no visible flaws, appears as unread copy in DJ displaying moderate surface/edge wear, with repaired closed tears, with toning. Very slight tilt.

Birmingham names all the names and ranks America's bluebloods (the newer money as well as the "Old Guard" of American society in New York, Philadelphia, San Franciseo, Boston, Washington, D.C., Virginia and the South, Chicago, Detroit and the Midwest. He tells how they made their money, how they live, how they summer, how they entertain; the private schools and colleges their children go to, presentation of dubutantes, charitable works, marriages between families, and which sections of the cities they live in.
