This is the 1897 Gladstone Edition by the Thomas Cromwell Co. "From the Author's Revised Texts.
Edited with Biographical and Critical Notes and Introduction by Charlotte porter and Helen A. Clarke" It includes an appendix entitled, "The Raw Material of the Ring and the Book."
The book is in near fine condition except for two serious flaws: the two title and publishing information pages are loose, although in fine condition otherwise; and there is some chipping along the edges of pages 239 through 252, although the chipping does not reach the text. . There is fine gold leaf engraving on the cover (a tree) and on the spine.
