Sarasota, Florida: Ringling Museum of Art, 1963. Book. Very Good. Soft cover. First Edition. Stapled, cardstock covers with scuffing resulting in scattered, small amounts of paper loss. Previous owner name inside front cover. Fifteen hundred copies of this scarce catalogue were printed by the Stinehour Press in Lunenburg, Vermont. Thirty-eight pieces from the collection are presented in this catalogue, illustrated with nineteen plates. Cover illustration: Seated Woman, by Henri Matisse, 1919. The title of the exhibition was A Selection of Paintings and Drawings Lent by the Family, by the Estate of Pauline K. Palmer and by the Art Institute of Chicago, Potter Palmer Collection. Twenty-four pages with References, followed by the section of plates. Preface by exhibition curator, Robert O. Parks. Essay on the collections by Daniel Catton Rich of the Worcester Art Museum. From Parks' Preface: "This exhibition commemorated by this catalogue provides the first substantial public representation in Sarasota of the work of mid-nineteenth century impressionist, and post-impressionist masters.".
