Olive-green green cloth, titling in gilt and elaborate gilt floral borders around a blue and lavender nature scene on front board, a theatrical gilt mask on the spine. The bindings are tight and square. Text clean, light even toning. Moderate shelf handling wear. Reprint edition, first with this decorated cloth cover. A handsome collectible book. . Background Information:
Joseph Jefferson was a popular American actor and comedian, though his adaptation of the story of Rip Van Winkle and his role in the stage play are his most notable achievements. He reprised the role of the lead character in several silent films.
