Octavo, 9 1/4" tall, xxii + 390 pages + black and white plates + 34 ads pages, white and maroon titles on blue boards. A very good minus, generally clean and neat hard cover overall with moderate shelf wear, boards are roughed at the edges, spine color faded (sunned), binding solid, paper lightly yellowed but with light foxing to the endpapers. In a good, edge-worn dust jacket, chipping at the flap fold and back strip edges top and bottom, and with the original price present.

"New books published by New Directions," including books by Henry Miller, Ezra Pound, Dylan Thomas, F. Garcia Lorca, William Carlos Williams, et al. Published on glossy cardstock with cover in blue and illustrated and titled in red and white. Cover shows some sun fading along outer edge. 6 x 9 inches.

A very handsome copy and close to near fine. First edition, first printing. Contributors include Henry Miller, Kay Boyle, William Carlos Williams, Gertrude Stein, E.E. Cummings, William Saroyan, Delmore Schwartz, Kenneth Rexroth, and others.

Very good in paper-covered boards with shelf wear and wear at the spine extremities and offsetting on the endpapers and very good dust jacket with chips at the spine extremities, faded spine, crease and relatively light edgewear.

This was the first publication by the legendary publisher, and includes work by Ezra Pound, Gertrude Stein, Henry Miller, Kay Boyle, Elizabeth Bishop, and more. According to Triolet Rare Books: "Gallup states that 513 copies total were printed, of which 204 were in boards."
Condition: Book in good+ condition, boards are bumped, tanning to edges, browning to end papers, spine square and pages clean.
