This Book is a novel set on a sugar plantation owned by a family, which struggled to keep it viable between the two world wars. Two of the three marriages in the novel had tragic endings. The Novel was published as two volumes, Parts I-VI and VII-XI. The entire Book in two volumes contains 622 pages. The front material does not state that this work is a First Edition, but it is believed to be.
