Sm 8vo (about 8" by 5 3/4"). 605 pp. First edition of this edition with Commentary from nine critics, and sections authored buy John Clellon Holmes, John Tytell, Norman Podhoretz, and Kerouac himself discussing the Beat Generation. Also includes an introduction by the editor, a chronology, a bibliography, and "Topics for Discussion and Papers." Red cloth with gold lettering to the spine. Light soiling and faint staining to the text block. Jacket is fine but for a couple of creases to the rear flap.
