Many emigrants named "Gilmore" landed on these shores between the years 1718 and 1800. They originated in Scotland, but lived for nearly a century in northern Ireland. Long before 1718, "Gilmores" from England, who may have been of Scottish descent, emigrated to this country. This book is about those who spelled their name "Gilmore." They came first to Massachusetts but very soon settled in southern New Hampshire.
