A Very Good copy of the first edition, first printing (light fading to the board edges), in a bright, attractive, dust jacket that would be Fine if not for some shadows to the flaps, and being Vliet's DEBUT NOVEL (which originally appeared in the 25th Anniversary edition of "The Hudson Review" . Born in Chicago, Vliet, a critically-praised Poet, novelist, playwright, and short story writer known particularly for his works set in Texas. This novel, set in the 1830s, centers around a young girl captured my Mexican bandits during the time that the area now known as Texas was a part of Mexico.
