Sobre este artículo
Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S.A.: South End PressC, 2000. Second Printing . Trade Paperback. Near Fine. 5 1/2" x 8 1/2. 254 Pages Indexed. First 25 pages evidence moisture exposure in the form of very slight page wrinkling. No stains or marks. Tight bright book that otherwise would be as new. The author is an articulate opponent of political hypocrisy, state brutality, and abuse of power. This is the result of tireless efforts tomeasure the world's superpowers by their own standards and to hold them responsible ofr the acts they commit in the name of their people. The United States and its allies come in for particular scrutiny for their numerous blatant violations of the very international laws they claim to uphold. With analysis of the United State's bombing campaign against Iraq, NATO's intervention in Kosovo, US support for a regime of terror in East Timor, and the political crisis in Colombia, Chomsky interrogates the rhetoric of Western foreign policy to reveal the insidious interest behind insupportable actions -- from paralyzing economic sanctions to surgical military strikes. Chomsky might be more believable if he would leave off the diatribes regarding capitalism and other failures of the United States.
