Landscape octavo, 13 x 22 cm. 28 hand-colored plates, all with multiple images per plate, depicts the history of the French monarchy in costume, beginning with the reign of Pharamond through to Louis XVIII. Chronological Table of the Monarchy -- the Merovingiens, Carlovingiens, and Capetiens. Mild dampstain title and last few leaves at lower corner. Plates fresh and bright, scattered light text toning.
