London: Constable & Company Ltd.. Good. 1911. First British Edition. Hardcover. 437 p. 20.5 cm. Somewhat loose in its green, cloth-covered boards. Front hinge is split but holding. Corners bumped. Soiling, stains, and fading to the boards. Previous owner's book label and glue remains on front endpapers. Title page has offsetting from tissue guard. There is a group of ten pages which have stain marks, mostly marginal. Otherwise the pages are clean, with some toning. The story of a teenaged boy named Rolf who leaves his adoptive home to live in the woods with a native American and his dog. Rolf faces many obstacles and adventures and, in the usual Seton fashion, uses boy scout type techniques in order to survive. Illustrated with twelve black and white plates and over two hundred drawings by the author. .
