Sobre este artículo

Oxford, United Kingdom: Osprey Publishing Ltd, 2006. New book, 336 pages. The Vietnam War was one of the most controverian wars of the twentieth century and the widespread social, military, and political aftereffects can still be felt today. From the conflict's beginnings n the colonial war with France in the 1940s and 50s through to the final evacuation of Saigon in 1975 an beyond, this book looks at the war through the eyes of combatants, vicilians, historians, and journalists, re-examining key aspects from new perspectives. Contributions include critical assessments of strategy and tactics by both NVA and ARVN officers, a harrowing account of the war's effect on Vietnamese civilians, and discussions of wider issues, including the war with Cambodia and Laos and the strategy of the US forces. New questions are raised and conventional views are challenged, giving fresh insights into a conflict continually revisited by movies, books and television. Illustrated with contemporary photos, maps, and diagrams that evocatively complement the text, this book is an incisive investigation into a fascinating and terrible conflict.. Hard Cover. As New/As New. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
