The good news is that all pages are intact (except the small chewed area) and the binding is strong and whole and that this is the true first printing of a scarce title which is extremely pricey in better condition. Yellow cloth boards with black titles on spine and red paper covering most of front and back; 179 pp. Mystery writer Lawrence Block turned his hand to something else in this novel. It is told in the form of a series of letters to and from "the world's most cunning linguist" who plunges into not one but seven simultaneous and overlapping love affairs that would boggle a satyr. The result is an hilarious series of romps and escapades that, according to the DJ warning, "must not be read in a water bed. You'll laugh yourself seasick.
