Sobre este artículo
This is a first edition of Roots: The Saga of an American Family, by the American author Alex Haley (1921-1992). It tells the story of Kunta Kinte, an 18th-century African who is captured as an adolescent, sold into slavery and transported to North America. It follows his life and the lives of his descendants down to Haley. The release of the novel (1976), and the hugely popular TV series the following year, was a cultural sensation. The book remains one of the most important US works of the 20th century.
This copy: The dust jacket is gone. There was a minor splash to the back cover. That's on the underside of the book, but there is no damage or discoloration to the pages (and no mildew).
Inside, there is one thumb print and one dog ear, at the end of chapter one. The book was not read after page 30. Otherwise perfect.

Sinopsis
Tracing his ancestry through six generations - slaves and freedmen, farmers and blacksmiths, lawyers and architects - back to Africa, Alex Haley discovered a sixteen-year-old youth, Kunta Kinte. It was this young man, who had been torn from his homeland and in torment and anguish brought to the slave markets of the New World, who held the key to Haley's deep and distant past. Originally published: Garden City, N.Y. : Doubleday, 1976.
