First trade paperback edition, published by Beacon Press. Part of the Virago-Beacon Travelers series. Memoir of the author's experiences while 'Roughing It' in the Canadian wilderness in the 1830's. This is not a remainder, not a library discard. There is a crease mark to the bottom corner of the front cover, a diagonal mark about 1" across. But no creases to the spine. One crease mark to the first flyleaf page, at the top right corner, a diagonal mark about 1/2" across. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. Binding is tight. As is common with books from this series, the paper stock has tanned with age. Attached photo is of the copy we have in our inventory.
