First Edition (first printing). 8vo. 544pp. Red cloth lettered and double-ruled in gold at the spine and with the author's initials blind-stamped to the upper board. A small area of chafing to the upper corner of the front board, and one tiny nick and a little wear to the backstrip ends. Edges a little spotted, with some further spotting to half a dozen preliminary leaves and a few subsequent margins. A nice bright copy. No dust wrapper. A historical novel set in 1651, detailing the escape from England of Charles II..
