Colour illustrated dust wrapper chipped and torn along the top of the back edge, faded on the spine section, 2 in. tear at the bottom left of the front panel, bottom right hand corner of front board is bumped, top edge browned. before his death the author brought his original draft up to date in the light work about Kipling that had appeared after his own was written.this book still has the distinction of being the 1st arrest with a full knowledge of the private papers and at a time when many of Kipling's contemporaries were alive.
