Hardback, 1934, first edition, with 17 monochrome illustrations, published by Macmillan and Co., London, 423 pages + xxvi.
Octavo/8vo. Measures around 8 7/8" by 6 1/4" by 1 1/2". Dark blue cloth binding, gilt crest to front board, gilt lettering to spine. A little discolouration to spine. Scuffing and a little marking, some signs of shelf-wear especially to spine with slight tearing at edges, slightly bumped and torn corners, a little bowing/creasing to spine. A bit of slackness to binding, a little cracking to front inner hinge, but holding reasonably well. Page edges browned, foxed and scuffed. Some foxing and marking throughout page surfaces, though more so towards endpapers and pages near plates, but otherwise clean, no underlining, marginalia, etc. See pictures for further information.
