George Grosz (1893-1959) was a German artist known for his cartoons and his depictions of Berlin during the Weimar Republic. He emigrated to the United States in 1933 just before Hitler's rise to power.With fourteen illustrations by George Grosz. In the publisher's original paper covered boards. Externally a trifle worn; with an illegible contemporary inscription to the front board, which is rather faded, and some general wear to the spine and extremities. Internally, binding is a little tender, and the front joint has failed. Pages are age toned at the edges, but otherwise clean. Good

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
