Sobre este artículo

Sacrarum Caeremoniarum sive rituum ecclesiasticorum s. rom. ecclesisae. libri tres. Hac postrema editione magno studio ac vigilan tia recogniti aucti locupletati. Universis Eclessiastici, non tam jucundi, quam utiles & necessarii. Venetiis apud Juntas, M. D. LXXXII Loosely translates: The Sacred/Holy Ceremonies and Rituals of the Roman clergy in three books. This last edition has been expanded with great care and vigilance. Necessary and useful for all clergy of the Roman Church. Printed in Venice (Italy) by Juntas, 1582. A religious book on the clerical and ecclesiastical ceremonies of the Roman Church, probably post Council of Trent under Pope Gregory IX (1517-1586). Probably a counter-reformation ceremony book. Numerous in-text woodcut illustrations of Roman Catholic ceremonies and Holy Orders and one full-page (frontispiece). Size, Binding: Small folio, measuring 10x7x1.5" (25.5x18x4 cm), limp beige vellum binding (i.e. animal skin) probably dating from close to the time of its printing. Collation: Blank, title page (i), Sanctissimo domino Leoni X (iii-iv; dedication to His Holiness Pope Leo X who was pope during the Reformation), Index (v-xv), woodcut frontispiece (xvi), main text (1-226, numbered by leaf, so 451 pages.) Numerous woodcut illustrations, mostly in rectangles, occasionally flanked by smaller woodcuts which was a popular style of Italian printing. Complete Condition: Overall a very good example. Most of the inner pages are quite clean, some toning to the edges of the first few leaves, and darkening to the edges of the text-block. There is some crossed-out writing on the bottom of the title page, some writing on the front paste-down, and some signs of previous dampness to the through the 34th leaf (i.e. page 68) on the bottom, not affecting the text. The limp binding is fairly intact but shows typical wear and tear for a book approaching 450 years. Most of these kinds of books were used in real ceremonies so the wear is not surprising NOTE: The pictures are of the actual item for sale. (The picture are NOT stock photos.)
