The first edition, first impression stated of this work by Barry Unsworth, co-winner of the Booker Prize in 1992 (together with The English Patient by Michael Ondaatje). The story follows a slave ship employed in the triangular trade, and in particular two cousins on a voyage. This work explores the vice of greed through the topic of slavery. With unclipped dustwrapper. In the original publisher's black cloth binding, with titles stamped in white to spine. Externally excellent with only minor shelfwear. Dustwrapper is unclipped and smart, with minor shelfwear and slight sunning to spine. Minor faint spotting and faint tidemark internal to wraps, not affecting externals. Minor closed tear to head of spine to wrapper, as well as minor tear to spine. Internally, firmly bound. Minor fait spotting to edges, not affecting pages that remain generally bright and clean throughout. Very Good Indeed
Sinopsis
Sacred Hunger is a historical novel by Barry Unsworth first published in 1992. It was joint winner of the Booker Prize that year, sharing the position with Michael Ondaatje's The English Patient. The story is set in the mid 18th century and centers around the Liverpool Merchant, a slave ship employed in the triangular trade, a central trade route in the Atlantic slave trade.
