Octavo, two volumes, [iv], 265 and [iv], 235 pages, with numerous hand-coloured initials and pictorial head- and tail-pieces, plus a total of 17 full-page engraved plates; all decorations and plates were designed and engraved by Gaston Bussière. Matching fine bindings (signed with the small inkstamp of 'P. Affolter') of three-quarter navy morocco and marbled boards, retaining the original wrappers; spines tooled in gilt, with elaborate coloured leather onlays; top edges gilt, others uncut; sides a trifle rubbed; spines lightly sunned; light offsetting from the plates; a couple of faint fingermarks internally; essentially a fine set. Number 692 of a total edition of 1200 sets, this being one of 1000 on vélin d'Arches paper (numbered 201-1200). The hand-numbered limitation (in the first volume) is initialled 'F.F.' by the publisher. [2 items].
