Sobre este artículo
Salisbury: James Easton, 1820. Paperback. Good Only. 7" by 4.5". Not Stated. A charming and scarce 19th century guide to Salisbury, with an account of the antiquities of Old Sarum, and descriptions of nearby attractions. A scarce new edition of this work, in the original paper wraps. Illustrated with two folding plates, one an engraving of Salisbury Cathedral, the other of Council House. One part of the folding plate of the cathedral is missing; otherwise, collated and complete. A 19th century guide to Old and New Sarum, or Salisbury, for the antiquarian and traveller. A brief history and overview of the topography of Salisbury is given; as well as descriptions of nearby attractions such as Longleat, Stourhead, Fonthill Abbey, Amesbury, Wardour Castle, and Tottenham Park. This is a scarce work; and particularly rare in this new edition of 1820. Two pages of publisher's advertisements to the front and a page of publisher's advertisements to the rear. In the original paper wraps. Externally worn and somewhat soiled, with the backstrip largely missing. The front free end paper, with advertisements to the verso, is detached but intact. Otherwise firmly bound. Pages are generally clean. One part missing to the folding plate of Salisbury Cathedral. A faint tide mark and a small closed tear to the folding plate of Council House. Good Only
