Book is tight, square, and unmarked but for a F/O name on the first page and a stamp of the original bookseller in Kansas City, MO on the front pastedown. Book Condition: Very Good; light shelfwear to head, tail, tips, and board bottom edges; small splash stain on textblock fore edge; dust soiling to text block top. No DJ but does have a brown paper Adjustable Book Cover patented Feb. 1888 that was on the book. Green cloth boards and spine with bright black lettering on the spine and front board. Floral endpapers. 288 pp 16mo. Catiline's Conspiracy describes the bloody rebellion led by the depraved and disaffected Catiline. For Sallust it was especially disturbing because of the unprecedented nature of the crime and the danger it caused. The Jugurthine War offers a graphic depiction of the war against the king of Numidia, highlighting the power struggles in Rome and the brutal battles in Africa. A clean very presentable copy with an antique book cover.
