Sobre este artículo

[1959 DALI INTERVIEW/ARTICLE WITH PHOTOCOPY INSCRIPTION TO GERALD KEAN, RARE] DALI INTERVIEW by Gerald Kean, 1959, photocopy as an article "The Persistence of Memory" by Gerald Kean, prefaced by photocopy of Dali inscription "Pour Gerald Kean, Homage de Dali" in a copy of the book "Dali on Modern Art: The Cuckolds of Antiquated Modern Art" published in English translation by Dial in 1957, the "P" of "Pour" and the 1959 date missing from the reduced-size photocopy at the front of the article (see Notes below), the article is in an interview/question-and-answer format, 8-1/2" x 11", 53 pages, front sides only (reverse sides blank), pages stapled together at upper left corner, Gerald Kean participated in and was influential in the transition from radio to television following WWII (see Notes below), Kean begins by bringing up Dali's book "The Secret Life of Salvador Dali" and commenting, "[the] book was very revealing, to which Dali replies, "Dali is one of the most exhibitionistic and narcissistic personalities", the interview/article ends (p.53) with Dali saying, "Explosion sometimes is very good. You know, explosion is very constructive sometimes", Dali ranges over a wide variety of subjects and personal and biographical points including art, Spanish feelings, world affairs, his own art, personal attributes…RARE–probably one-of-a-kind, online searches of several passages of Dali responses gave no returns, no copies found recorded at WorldCat/OCLC or for sale online (11/4/22); NOTES: GERALD KEAN, 1915-2002, had a long career in the media from World War II Office of War Information, beginnings of the U. N. following the war, and the media transition from radio to television in the 1950s, important and influential figure though not widely known outside of the field, worked with the legendary Himan Brown, notably as a radio script writer using different pen names for Brown's "CBS Radio Mystery Theater"; the Dali inscription to Kean was in a book sold by D&D Galleries found in an online search noting the inscription, which is the same as the photocopy with the interview/article; CONDITION: well-preserved, minimal wear.
