1966 hardcover as pictured. A very nice edition of the classic "A Sand County Almanac", and 25 or so other essays from the great American naturalist, Aldo Leopold, with illustrations by Charles Schwartz. Binding is intact. Green cloth boards with black stamping are faded and lightly soiled with some fraying at head and tail of spine and at corners. Printed endpapers with bookplate on FFEP. Writing on half title and facing page. Text is generally clean but about 40 pages have light pencilled notations. Dust jacket is mottled and rubbed with many small tears and chips. Sinopsis
A Sand County Almanac is a 1949 non-fiction book written by American ecologist and environmentalist Aldo Leopold. Describing the land around Leopold's home in Sauk County, Wisconsin and his thoughts on developing a "land ethic," it was edited and published by his son, Luna, a year after Leopold's death from a heart attack. The collection of essays is considered to be a landmark book in the American conservation movement.
