London: Secker & Warburg, 1968. First Edition. First Impression. Octavo (22.25cm); dark brown paper-covered boards, with titles stamped in gilt on spine; dustjacket; [13],14-319,[1]pp; illus. Inscribed by Dan Bawley on the front endpaper to J. Wayne Fredericks, the former U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs (1961-67): "To Mr. Fredericks / with best regards / Dan Bawley / March 7, 1968." Beneath this, the recipient has attached a Post-it, with a holograph note stating that he met with the authors in Tel-Aviv, Israel. Spine ends gently nudged, else a fresh, very Near Fine copy. Dustjacket is unclipped (priced 35s. net), gently spine-sunned and lightly edgeworn, with a few tiny tears to extremities; Very Good+ or better.
