Sobre este artículo
London: The Bodley Head,, 1953. First edition, first impression, of Russell's first work of fiction, a collection of five short stories written at the age of 80. Russell declared that "for some reason entirely unknown to me I suddenly wished to write the stories in this volume, although I had never before thought of doing such a thing" (front flap). "The Corsican Ordeal of Miss X" was published anonymously in GO magazine in 1951: the remainder are published here for the first time. Octavo. Original black cloth, spine lettered and ruled in gilt. With dust jacket. With 14 black and white illustrations by Àsgeir Scott. Bookseller's ticket of Blackwells to front pastedown. Very light bumping, slight lean to spine, faint browning and foxing to endpapers, residue of sticker to front free endpaper; minor rubbing, creasing, and browning to unclipped jacket: a very good copy in like jacket. Blackwell & Ruja A94.
