London: Hutchinson, 1949. First printing of the ninth volume in the series (hardback). 8vo (23cm by 16cm), 288pp. Plates (from photographs), text decorations by Laurence Scarfe. Original orange cloth, dustwrapper. There is some foxing to the edges of the text block, and a gift inscription; overall, the book is in good to very good condition. The dustwrapper is in good to very good condition (some chafing of the edges, price-clipped). The dustwrapper has now been put in a mylar cover to protect it.
