Sobre este artículo

New York: Alfred A. Knopf. Good+ in Good dj. 1959. First American Edition. Hardcover. [ex-MGM Library copy, with stamps on both endpapers, circulation pocket on front pastedown (see notes), moderate shelfwear, slight bumping to several corners; the jacket has a 2-inch ragged tear at the bottom front hinge, with associated creasing at the lower left corner of the front panel, extending across to the opposite lower corner; there are also small tears at several other corners, with minor paper loss, a small hole in the jacket at the left edge of the rear panel, and a couple of short diagonal creases at the top corner of the front flap]. Sillitoe's debut novel, capturing "all the hearty, boozy, earthy gaiety of English provincial life." Basis for the 1960 Karel Reisz film, starring Albert Finney in his breakthrough role. This book was formerly "Copy 1" in the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studio library and, somewhat unusually, still has the original circulation card in the front pocket, bearing the names of two people who had checked the book out in 1959, the first of whom was Marjorie Thorson, a longtime M-G-M story editor. .
