Sobre este artículo

Augusta, ME: William R. Smith & Co, 1841. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good+. No DJ as Issued.. First Edition. Hardcover. Author focuses his critique on the Rev. Benjamin Tappan and his "clique" of religious police and what he sees as their "regular encroachment upon that liberty wherewith Christ has made his followers free." Under Tappan's conservative approach to the church, dancing became "a sore evil" and the community began to splinter. Weston's account has is widely respected and quite scholarly. A handsome copy of this rather scarce and significant work. Light shelf/edge wear, light rubbing/wear at spine, minor wear at hinges, else tight, bright and unmarred. Brown cloth boards, gilt lettering, in blind decorative elements. 12mo. 228pp.
