Small 4to. 19th-cent. boards (somewhat rubbed). Basel, Daniel Eckenstein, 1748. First part of three of Herrliberger's (1697-1777) collection of portrais of famous Swiss citizens, a.o. Holbein, Buxtorf, Canisius, Hirzel. This is the only part which was printed by Eckenstein in Basel. The authors of the explanatory texts are not known. - Lacking the poem by Albrecht von Haller (1 p.), tear in margin of text to Wepfer, discolored by glue, otherwise good copy, with a ms. index on last blank. - Spiess-Schaad 1.6.1; Haller II, 323.
