Page edges lightly toned, lightly foxed prelims and endpages. Cloth boards in price-clipped dust-jacket which has lost a section from the spine head, including part of the title and author's name. The author writes of the salient features of the mainland, with glimpses at its history, national character and customs, and at the literature that illustrates Scotland to the English-speaking world.
