Sobre este artículo
Philadelphia: J. B. Lippincott & Co., 1873. Second Edition . Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. Edward Whymper. 1873 SECOND USA EDITION. This is the second USA edition. The first USA edition was published n 1872, but many ignorant or sloppy sellers tend to claim that the 1873 edition was the first USA edition. That is absolutely incorrect. The USA 1872 and 1873 editions have the same binding design and contents but there are brown/purple/green variants in the color of the binding covers -- with the contents/size being the same other than the date on the title page. This example has very rubbed cover corners (through the cloth to the underlying boards, rubbing along the spine joint edges with splitting in places (but the backstrip is holding and not splitting open), cracked rear EP with paper tape repair (see photos), solid binding, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages, no foxing. Overall a good working example of one of the most famous mountaineering books ever published, 16 full page engravings, 88 in text engravings. PHOTOS ARE OF THE ACTUAL BOOK BEING OFFERED.
