New York: Macmillan, 1953. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. The seventh printing of the first US edition (September 1943). Original red cloth hard covers, in price-clipped dust jacket. Jacket is toned and shows some shallow loss here and there. Moderate handling and shelf-wear to extremities and edges of covers. Edges and endpapers mildly toned, with old gift inscription to front endpaper scribbled out. Otherwise clean, tight and unmarked. Very neat -- a sound and handsome copy. .
Sinopsis
The Screwtape Letters is a work of Christian apologetics by C. S. Lewis, first published in book form in 1942. The story takes the form of a series of letters from a senior demon, Screwtape, to his nephew, a junior tempter named Wormwood, so as to advise him on methods of securing the damnation of an earthly man, known only as "the Patient. The novel was dedicated to J.R.R. Tolkien, and is among one of Lewis' most popular works.
