London: Rivingtons, 1860 The village of West tarring is situated within the modern Borough of Worthing. The author, a man of the cloth was both philosopher, historian and naturalist with an interesting turn of phrase. Stylistically the layout and typography is a mix between the late 18th and mid 19th century with the use of the f for the s throughout. Volume One, xviii, 397pp with a frontis plate and vignette to the title page. Volume Two, 502pp+2 also with a frontis plate and vignette to the title. Coth hard bound with paper labels.
