Sound and square binding in paper-covered boards with illustration matching the dust jacket. Slight musty odor. Light wear to the corners and edges. Inside pages are clean and unmarked, with tanning starting to edges. Dust jacket has wear to the corners, less so to the spine ends. Spine is rubbed and has remains of a sticker and is somewhat darkened. It has a 2" closed tear along the rear spine edge. Darkened along flap fold edges. Price clipped. The story of Harriet Garter and the bargain she makes with a stranger to return life to her village. Illustrated in black and white by Robin Jacques. .
