Light cracking to gutters and hinges; some looseness to binding but pages remain attached. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild chipping, tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has minor tanning with soft crushing to ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Lettering remains bright and clear.

Early edition. Original publishers' blue cloth - gilt embossed to the spine and blind stamped to each board. Yellow endpapers. No inscriptions. Some rubbing with slight loss of cloth to the head and tail of the spine and to several board corners. Nevertheless a very good, clean, tight well preserved copy.

Clean and sound. Good+, sound copy . Hardback. 1891.

Boards have moderate shelf wear, with rubbing and marking. Heavy bumping to corners and crushing to spine ends, causing cloth to fray. Book has noticeable forward lean. Boards are slightly bowed with dents to edges. Cracking to rear joint.
