Sobre este artículo
San Francisco: City Lights Books,, 1959. First edition, sole printing, of the author's first separately published work, preceding his first book by six years. It is scarce in such fresh condition. African American Beat poet Bob Kaufman (1925-1986) was born in New Orleans. He joined the United States Merchant Marine aged 18, before leaving in the early 1940s to study literature in New York at the New School, where he was inspired by the writings of several proto-beats, among them Walt Whitman and Arthur Rimbaud. In 1958 he moved to San Francisco, where he remained for most of his life. His work was especially popular in France, where he was celebrated as "Rimbaud noir". Broadside folded in sixths (190 x 147 mm). White paper printed in black. A few faint creases and marks, a fine copy.
