Includes: Footnotes, Citations., Killed in Action. This narrative is based almost entirely unpon original documents (American official documents, Foreign documents, and personal documents.) The maps are based upon those which were compiled by the American Battle Monuments Commissions. The headquarters troop was organized in the summer of 1917 at Fort Ethan Allen, Vermont. Other units had lineage that went back to before the Civil War. 1937. Gift inscription on verso of front flyleaf. Presentation letter of an award of Purple Heart medal laid it. Clean, tight copy.
