Leighton, PA: Leighton High School. 1932. Hardcover. Very Good with no dust jacket; Two Yearbooks From Leighton High School, Leighton, Pennsylvania, 1931 and 1932. Franz Kilne was a student there and was Artist for the Yearbook in his Junioi Year. Most of the cartoons and decorations were done by him. His Signature appears in both books. Franz Kline was part of abstract expressionist movement in New York City in the 1940's and 50's. Both Books are in good condition. The 1931 Yearbook has a weak and loose spine. The 1932 Yearbook has a weak spine. Both have some edgewear. ; B&W Illustrations .

1840. A 10 1/2" x 8 1/4" pressed board box with applied lithograph on the front cover depicting two young women musing while standing arm in arm in a rose garden. The surprise within the box is 20 trinket boxes each 2 5/8" x 1 1/2". Each pressed board box is covered with embossed gilt paper with an applied litho on the top of predominantly a woman or women posed in outdoor scenes. Two of the boxes depicting courting couples. One is in the style of the Marie Taglioni fairy. Each box designed with the sole purpose of retaining ones tiny keepsakes and treasures. A joy to be received by any young woman. One box with-3 corner repair. Light warping from storage in dry environment.

Edinburgh: William Blackwood and Sons, 1854 viii, [2], 274pp, with the armorial frontis-piece with tissue-guard intact, and folding linen-backed Genealogical Table, bound in 3/4 maroon leather and red cloth, raised bands on spine, marbled endpapers, top edges gilt, binding and hinges tight. Small ownership label of A.B.W. MacEwen, the author and genealogist. INSCRIBED & SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR on the half-title page, with that persons signature on the title page, appears to be "G.H.F.Stuart, 1898". The linen-backed, folding Genealogical Table shows light foxing and a few closed tears, the book shows occasional light foxing, covers show occasional edge nick, with small stain.

Very good plus to near fine in full blue cloth with blue top-edge stain. 404 pages with frontispiece portrait of John Doyle Lee. Illustrated with maps, plates, and portraits. This true first printing omits the last three paragraphs on page 376 regarding Lee's reinstatement to membership in the Mormon Church. Clean and tight with crisp text. London: Printed for the Proprietor, 1797-1808.. 16 Volumes. 8vo (actually a small 4to.), the volumes measure just under 5 x 8 inches. 19th century tree-calf, spines designed in gilt, lettered in gilt on panels of black. A few slightly cracked hinges and modest shelf wear, a very nice clean set. This is a uniform binding of two separate sets; the first set, of ten volumes, has the legend "Barr's Buffon" at the head of the title page. The second set, of six volumes, is issued anonymously. In all, 136 plates, most coloured by hand. Internally very fresh, almost no foxing to be seen. Typically, the plates are not in the exact order given in the individual volumes. In this case, the final (supplement) volume contains several plates which are listed in earlier volumes, but not present there. One plate from Volume 11 (a Parrot?) appears never to have been bound-in. In all a clean and attractive set of Buffon, quite handsome.
