Sensitive modern repair to spine and hinges (restorer's report available on request). Publishers' advertisements follow text on p. 359 and on final unpaginated page. Woodcut head- and tailpieces, and initials. These presumably fictitious letters have been attributed to David Jones, secretary to the Marquis de Louvois. In Very Good Condition: sensitive modern repair to spine and hinges; leather is rubbed, with minor loss at ends of spine; lacking free endpapers; occasional soiling and faint dampstaining; otherwise clean and tight.
